Coal Mine Projects

NTPC has been allocated with 6 coal blocks, namely, Pakri-Barwadih, Chatti-Bariatu, Kerandari, Dulanga, Talaipalli, by Government of India. Banhardih coal block, allocated earlier to Jharkhand State Government, is now being developed by M/s. Patratu Vidyut Utapadan Nigam Ltd. (PVUNL), a JV company incorporated between NTPC & Government of Jharkhand. From these 10 coal blocks, with a total estimated mineable reserves of about 2.5 Billion Metric Tonnes, NTPC expects to produce about 71 Million Metric Tonnes of coal per annum.
